Visser Contact Lens Practice (Visser Contactlenzen) is a specialised optical practice. It was established in 1977 by mr. R. Visser. The head office of Visser Contact Lens Practice is based in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. There are 24 practices in the rest of the country.
Besides a focus on the commercial market of the contact lens, Visser has many clients who wear contact lenses for medical reasons.
One of Visser’s specialties is the scleral lens, which can be used for many ocular conditions for which other types of contact lenses do not offer a solution.
Who can be helped by our scleral lens?
Scleral lenses are successfully used by people with visual impairment resulting from corneal diseases such as keratoconus, or after corneal transplants or corneal scarring.
People suffering from pain, photosensitivity and discomfort caused by severe dry eyes may also benefit.
In cases where corneal rigid gas-permeable lenses are capable of improving vision, but cannot be tolerated, scleral lenses may be the answer.
